Not a whole lot new and different - People are still homeless, but people are still willing to come together, albeit in small doses, to help them.
I would like to say that we progressed some more last year as an
organization - I think we did kinda sorta in that we held firm in our
position as a small-scale fundraiser - which is okay.
I have to remind myself every day that that's okay.
I still want to move Stop The Bleeding forward , but that will still take some time - and Funding. And a huge upheaval of my employment situation, which I really need to be cognissant of.
Looking back on 2017 I see yet another year during which the Boston local music scene stepped up to support their neighbors in need.
We also had two venues step up to help us out - in addition to
Pete's Bar and Grille in Quincy, MA, we were thrilled to join forces with O'Brien's Pub in Lynn, MA and
Max's Hideout in Brockton, MA.
With nowhere to play, these shows don't happen.
Last year we raised a total of $3,113.37 for 7 different places.
The Breakdown:
$376 raised at the STB Metalfest 17 for Boston domestic violence shelter Renewal House.
$1,096.25 raised at A Tribute To The Homeless 12 for
Veterans Transition House homeless veterans shelter in New Bedford, MA
$303 raised at Punking Out Homelessness 2 for the
Lowell Transitional Living Center homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Lowell, MA
$454 raised at the STB Metalfest 18 for The Mustard Seed soup kitchen in Worcester, MA.
$354 raised at The Rock Show 17 for the Grace Food Pantry
in Everett, MA.
$260.12 raised at the Stop The Bleeding Haunted Halloween Metalfest for Lucy's Hearth family shelter in Middletown, RI.
$270 raised at The Rock Show 18 for the Nashua Soup Kitchen and Shelter in Nashua, NH.
Thank You to all the bands who played our shows, the venues who hosted them, and everyone who came out to a show and/or donated and/or worked the show with me -
